U.S. Commercial Service
The Commercial Service Florence, a division of the U.S. Department of Commerce
and the Commercial Service Italy, is responsible for the Italian regions of
Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna. Located in central Italy, these are two of Italy's
most commercially dynamic areas.
Emilia-Romagna ranks tenth in terms of per capita income among all the
regions in Europe. The region is also home to Italy's second largest fair grounds,
BolognaFiere, with a calendar of 27 trade events per year, 13 of which are leaders
in their fields in Italy and four of which are world-leading events. A
progressive, industrial and high-tech powerhouse, Emilia-Romagna hosts numerous
important industries such as biomedicine, metalworking, automotive, apparel, and
construction.
Tuscany has an extremely rich cultural heritage, reflected in the
concentration of traditional industries such as apparel, textiles, and leather
goods in the area. In many respects, Florence is the capital of Italy for
production and trade in these industries. Mission and Services
The mission of the Commercial Service Florence is to help American
exporters identify and take advantage of business opportunities in the regions of
Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna. The realization of our mission involves a full range
of trade promotion services and a full calendar of trade events in the area
aimed at bringing American companies to the European market.
The Commercial Service Florence is an integral part of the American
Consulate in Florence. Through our program of Single Company Promotions, we
are able to offer our representation facilities to American exporters and Italian
importers for the presentation and promotion of American goods and services. The
American Consulate is located on the bank of the historic Arno river, and offers a
prestigous setting for presentations, seminars, and receptions. Included in Single
Company Promotion Service is the right to use the logo of the U.S. Commercial
Service on invitations, management of guest list as needed, logistical assistance
during the presentation, as well as maintenance of the facilities following the
event.
