Message of Condolences on the Occasion of the Earthquake in Central Italy, April 6, 2009

On behalf of the U.S. Government and the American people, Charge d’Affaires a.i. Elizabeth Dibble offered condolences to the Government and people of Italy for the loss of life and destruction resulting from the April 6 earthquake.

The Embassy is consulting with Italian authorities on possible cooperation and assistance and working to ensure the safety of American citizens.

Our thoughts remain with those affected by this disaster.
